My F5 Clock
I had a few 1/4" boards
resulting from some
resawing I did for a
mandolin stand. I
decided to join a couple
of pieces and make a
clock face. The piece is
10" x 7 1/2".

Shaping the body. I used my carving gouges for all of this.
The scroll turned out nice.
Not a whole lot of contrast in the body, it's only a 1/4" thick. The binding was
really tough around the scroll. I should have trimmed it closer to the size of the
edges. Binding & scraping the scroll was enough to make a preacher cuss. If it
was a mandolin it would have a binding channel, making it somewhat easier
